Mumbai Meri Jaan

"The local arriving on platform number one is....." goes an announcement in one of the stations in Mumbai.Following the announcement comes the train, fully loaded with people. There will not be any time of the day when people don't stand on the footboard of the local train. Inspite of so many seats vacant inside, the footboard is always crowded. People wont mind getting down and then boarding the train again at each stop for others to get in and for them to retain their coveted "footboard position" . When I speak of Mumbai, the very first thing by default which comes to my mind are the local trains which are also anointed as "The Lifeline of Mumbai". The tracks which are a few metres wide and enduring tons of weight daily have the capacity to transport myriad number of people which a road of equal width can do but with great difficulty.
When you go ambling on the streets of Mumbai , the footpaths can be sometimes occupied by small stalls(thellas). Here, you get all sorts of edibles, accessories for a reasonable rate. "dus ka do"(10 for 2), "nahi rukiye madam, aat mei leke jaeye"(wait madam, take this away for 8 bucks) are some of the common statements heard while the transactions are finalized. We can find any item properly packed and showcased in a hi-fi shop or the same item found with the street vendors(maybe of a different quality though). A city of extremes, made for those who wish to survive lavishly and also for those who are on an austerity drive but uncompromising on the items to be purchased.
Mumbai can also be coined as "A city of chances, probabilities". One can never predict when and how can he\she succeed. People start with small businesses and start-ups and sometimes become millionaires while some of them go for a toss. It can also be coined as a dense forest of "buildings" where the number of people residing in a building can be equated with the number leaves in a tree. I have been residing here since my birth(21 years) and it was absolutely a wonderful experience. I have traveled in the buses, the trains and more than half of my life in Mumbai goes in travelling. Travelling gets even more challenging during the rainy season when majority of the trains are late, trains are overcrowded with apprehensive people willing to rush home early. It's just like an adventure where occurrence of events is dynamic.
Criticism is something which is not very uncommon here. Waiting for a bus in a queue for a long time and seeing how unjustifiably buses are diverted to certain locations, walking on the road densely surrounded by people, common altercations amongst co-passengers are some of the situations which lead to a lot of irritation regularly. The absence of some solitary space while doing our daily chores is unfavourable sometimes.Another thing very common among Mumbaikars is their apathy towards socialisation. I find scarce socialisation here and people hardly come out of their houses and take efforts to speak to others. People are reluctant to get out of the 4 walls of their house. This can partly be blamed to the excessive obsession with electronic gadgets or the increased lethargy among citizens. Interactions with neighbours is at a all time low. We also think twice before acknowledging an acquaintance with a smile as if a smile costs a million dollars worth energy. Instead a smile spreads positive vibes worth more than a million dollars.
Mumbai has a lot of good things to boast of starting from the delicious Mumbai chhat(found nowhere else in the world), the vada pav, pav bhaji and needless to mention and describe the plethora of landmarks and places(fashion street, the various temples and other religious shrines, the gateway of India....and the list is very long) which are uniquely special in their own way. The spirit of Mumbaikars is something worth admiration. Irrespective of so many blows and losses, people have never failed to rise again to show the world that they are unstoppable. The absence of socialisation is compensated by huge gatherings during festivals. Celebrations galore here with every festival celebrated with equal fervour.I really salute the people who go out of their way, remove time out of their busy schedules making arrangements for the festivals.

People residing here may have many issues to raise a hue and cry about but have never ceased loving this place. Once accustomed to the fast-paced life of Mumbai it becomes difficult to adapt to a slower and much relaxed life but one can live under the worst conditions as well. Mumbai-life has made me rough and tough.I, a resident of Mumbai, the city of dreams, vehemently state....."Mumbai meri jaaan hai(Mumbai is my life)"

The 'legendary' trip

It's 4:30 a.m, December 27,2012 and I just attended the call of my alarm clock which is relentlessly investing its battery to wake me up. I get ready to reach the commencing point of the express train. The station near my locality is crowded, bustling with energy in the morning and I am standing with my wheeled luggage bag. Though now, more than the excitement of the journey, the anxiety of boarding the local train with the luggage is what bothers me the most. Albeit in the wee hours, the local trains can be very soothing and cosy, the "halo" effect imbibes some anxiety.
Overcoming these barriers I reach the source platform for what can be called as the "Dream Journey". Going on a long trip with college mates was a totally different affair for me. All stood on the platform waving hands and greeting each other. After all the initial arrangements, the train whistle blew and it had started to take us to our destination. The excitement was such that for the initial hour or so, we only discussed and strengthened our "wonderlands" on how exciting and ecstasy-filled our journey was going to be.
The first thing on plate was the antakshari(singing) in which we all pulled each other's leg on the songs we chose.Of course and as expected, romantic songs attracted the most "attention" as always. We never knew how time was also moving ahead with our songs and the sun had just positioned itself exactly on the top of our heads. It was a one day long journey and the following night we never slept. Making the most of the time, all of us gathered in the centre of our compartment in the train and were busy narrating some horror stories, trying to match them with reality and the horror with the darkness. Finally, when everyone just decided to retire for the day for atleast 2 hours, I had just sat with my companion, my novel.
With the novel on my face and hands faintly resting on them, my eyes had just opened in the morning. A fresh sip of tea made my day and I was an hour away from destination whiling away my time looking at the naturally embellished mother nature. The destination was Bangalore, India's electronic city. After checking in the hotel,we all had the traditional and delicious "Idli-sambhar" for our breakfast. The first thing I did after having the breakfast is had "kapi"(coffee), as they call it in south India. I had no issues in communicating with the people there as I was familiar with the local language. The following night we left for Coorg.
Coorg is a hill station with a pleasant climate and known for its coffee plantations. More than the places we visited, the overnight stay at the hotel was exciting. All football fans locked up in a room were totally geared for a nerve-gripping match. Meanwhile, I and one of my mates, ventured out to explore this beautiful place, bought some coffee and returned to our hotel. The cherry on the cake were the rains there, unusual winter rains; not to mention, we got drenched in the rains to have "kapi" again.  +fahim siddiquei  , hope you remember the night walk there.
Mysore was the next stop. Needless to say, known for the "Palace" by the great Tipu sultan. We hired a guide who could clearly explain the history and its origins to make more meaning of the visit. I really admire the dedication and skills of the builders back then with limited technology and resources, they have built a masterpiece. Finally, after lunch, we all geared up to return to Bangalore. Now here was one more excitement, the bus journey. There was not even a moment in the bus when we didn't dance.  We danced on all types of songs leaving all the worries we had aside.
It was 31st December, 2012 and a DJ party was arranged where I danced with all exuberance in the company of all those pleasant people with whom I spent 3 years of my life. I saw some people behaving in absurd way totally engrossed in the heat of the moment. The DJ, having completed his share of time with us was almost about to leave. Here, one of my friend went to him and never let him move an inch from his seat. Inspite of having our stomach filled with food, the jumping and random steps never reduced. The hotel was a 4-star hotel and going back and resting was equally exciting. Therefore after reaching a physical saturation, all of us returned to our respective rooms to relax. Aadesh, Bhavesh, Akshay,Bhushan and Amit  hope you remember this memorable dance.
After all the excitement, came the evening of january 1,2013. Having being kissed by the pleasant celebration of new year, we also got kissed by the time which had indicated to make a move and end this memorable trip. Owing to all the excitement it had given us, time never allowed us to totally come back to normalcy from such a state. The train journey was still remaining, the place where we could finally sum up everything and slowly kiss Goodbye to the memorable trip. I spoke to one native guy in there who had also come to study trip while others were playing antakshari. Later on, I too joined the celebrations. We hardly slept that night knowing that the next day we all will be back home, doing the same old chores. Having had such cherishable moments together, we wanted to make even more of the remaining time. With each moment passing, the adage "Time and tide wait for none" was something which struck me the most. It never allowed me to keep any grief forever so it will equally not allow me to remain in this state forever. This is life!!
Thus, I never knew how those seven unforgettable and memorable days passed, with each day the enjoyment increased exponentially. At this age, where responsibility and freedom go hand in hand, spending time with friends and getting to know them better was the best thing ever happened.

The mesmerizing temperatures, the company of friends, multiplicity of places, the 31st night D.J. party and the unforgettable cosy stay at the hotel  and last but not the least the train journey; it is nothing but the unforgettable trip to the south in nutshell. The most cherishable days spent with friends. The trip was truly legen 'wait-for-it' dary trip.

GOOD DAY TO ALL OF YOU!!

APTITUDE BUT NO ATTITUDE

Any organisation paying a considerable amount of money as one's salary has one thing written on its door: "you don't have the necessary APTITUDE". Any diligent and deserving person, failing to clear the test would get depressed above reasonable limits.  They talk about not having the necessary APTITUDE.
Let us now see how such aptitude is acquired. Well, all you need to do is sit with some book which provides certain fixed methods to solve the problem. Students who follow that method are said to have acquired the knowledge of how to solve the problem without actually putting to task one of the beautiful creations of the Almighty:THE BRAIN. They surely pass this test and get satisfied momentarily that things are in their favor and then to their dismay finally(except the deserving ones). This is what happens to some who qualify for the APTITUDE test but fail to make it. Let us now have a look at those who do not qualify.
Here is a person, who slogs hard, works hard and does practical stuff but does not do one thing namely being a bookworm. He feels that the aptitude test doesn't test your aptitude but it tests how well you know the methods to solve a particular problem, how well you know the formula's irrespective of the methods used to derive it and the basic knowledge of it. Some might say, they only give the statistics and what and when to do is what students giving the aptitude tests decide. My reply would be  "Given a plate with rice, daal, pickle randomly arranged with various combinations and having been asked to reach the goal state which is a particular combination seen multiple number of times and present either strongly or bleakly in the memory, what is the great difficulty??" It's as good as taming the mind to recognize combinations and respond accordingly.
ATTITUDE and THINKING and not only APTITUDE is what one must look out for.  According to me, people with ideas creativity must be preferred than those who sit in front of a book and try to memorize formula's to clear an apparently aptitude testing test. Though, I admit that there are some really good quality questions but now is the age of ideas and innovation. I would rather prefer a person, who is a little less on the above mentioned area but more on the train of thoughts.  The way a person thinks, the way he\she approached any problem in life, may it even be personal portrays the intelligence of the person more than any aptitude test could ever show. The programming skills which are required could be easily acquired now or later but the thinking which a person has should be the greatest asset to any organisation. Nowadays, workshops and seminar's are organised for people on how to interact and improve one's interpersonal skills which was once upon a time not a grave matter of concern.

All I would say in this issue is that a person must be judged face-to-face for his\her thinking, will power to learn things and his\her dedication. As told, the above mentioned skills can be acquired by any person but thinking is a gem among other things. One might as well say, a person can easily bluff showing fake optimism but I would say one cannot bluff about his unique thoughts and that becomes quite visible either ways.I nevertheless state that I am not against the practice of conducting aptitude tests but would be more pleased and at peace if questions which judge one's thinking, imagination would also have been included as a parameter for measuring a candidate.
Good day to all of you!

....and this is what is friendship.

This article is totally dedicated to one of my friend, who has been the greatest blessing to me till date.
We played together throughout our childhood but may have been just an acquaintance back then.We met daily but our discussions were just formal and of the "hi-hello" types. We were so near but yet so far.
The distance which separated us was that of time. Time had not come or both of us to realise that we might be such good friends and a benison in some way for each other. Time passed by and he went his way and I mine totally oblivious to destiny. For so many years, he was a normal person to me, until one day.
He was standing at the bus-stop and totally engrossed in his activities, I just went by and we started talking generally about ongoing topics. One thing which amazed me is his passion for reading. We had so many books to talk about, the vivid experiences. We reached our eureka movement when we both read a surprisingly intriguing bestseller which was totally of the "vulgar"(not really but people do call it that way) genre. Our discussions were totally based on a very famous female character portrayed in that book.
That character created such a strong bonding that with each passing day, our discussions would increase. There wasn't a single moment when we both got bored of each other. I truly believe that such bonds are tied naturally when you least expect them to. The character was just a reason for things to happen.
Travelling is a part of our daily chores, which is nothing less than 7 kms. Deciding to accompany each other in such a tiring journey is the best thing ever done. Making fun of the ongoing events in a sarcastic manner, taking away the seat of a person trying to vouch for a seat in the bus were some of the pleasures we have had and are still having. As a routine, we  daily see some people who silently acknowledge their presence unknowingly but never come and talk with us. Somewhere, their acknowledgement and presence has become habitual and though they are not related to us, we observe it to be abnormal not to see them for a while. These are the small but inordinately wonderful experiences and encounters.
We strike a cord with people who have undergone the same problems as ours since during distress we actually need some expert opinion, and that is where he was and still is a blessing. I often loose hope over things thinking pessimistically  and he is the first to boost me and give me the necessary optimism. That is where a real friend comes into picture; being by your side in your ups and downs. He relishes in every small and infinitesimal success of mine as well, asking me to do each task and every thing with equal alacrity, optimism. The value which we have for each other, I think, will never degrade come what may.
Friendship is all about inordinately sharing experiences, being there for each other and respecting each others space in life. The best part of friendship is that we get so many things without expecting much. I've observed that many 'tagged' relations which come with a tag of expectation often lead to dismal ties(with exceptions as always).People become friends with their father, mother and brothers, why? probably it does allow one to share one's experiences without thinking much about the formality of ties and hierarchy.
Since I have known him for such a long time, I just poured my heart keeping him in mind. I am meeting so many good souls out there that someday the pages will be too less, ink will dry away but still I may be unsatisfied writing and expressing about them.....and this is what is friendship.
P.S:Talking about his name, hope you get me SN.

Good day to all of you!

*life->computers; if(computers==null){ life->null;}

Firstly, my title means that my life points to computers and if there are no computers, life is a null(no purpose, coders might get the analogy). Now here goes my tale.
It is the year 1995, I am cozily seated facing the Intel 486 at my grandpa's house . This "assimilated machinery" which managed to display a character whose movements were controlled by me and accordingly reflected changes in the display, was admirable(I termed it 'assimilated' because it could understand what I told it to do). The character moves with a considerable speed and is faced by some opposing force's men who are willing to battle against him to prevent him from reaching his princess. I never knew what and why but the this is what computers meant to me way back then.
I would long to be at my granny's place only for one thing: Computers. Whenever I returned to my own house, the longing for "the assimilated machinery" would only increase and catering to this emotion, I would prod my parents strongly to take me back there. My uncle used to assemble computers from a scratch in my granny's house and I, used to observe, observe and observe. At an age of less than 5, I didn't know what made me so curious about computers but I used to muse about it without any proper basic understanding of what is going on. Soon, this raw interest started to turn into serious interest and then things slowly started to insinuate at I  becoming an IT or Computer engineer someday. Today, I stand at the fourth and final year of my course and see my abstract aspirations taking a definite form. I used to be so persuasive about computers, that school and formal education seemed to be secondary. The interest at that time was mainly pinned at playing a popular DOS game. Such was the craze, though for a game but thats what led me to believe that computers is what I love.
I way learnt more and more about computer hardware is something which I will always cherish. In the year 1999, I got myself an intel pentium3, which was one of the latest machines back then. Well, problem solved, got a computer at my house with the revered DOS game as also with some advanced features which could run many more games. Now there was only one problem which was what if the computer conked off and it would take about a week for the concerned officials to make a visit for it to be up and functioning. It was too long a wait for a passionate attraction and interest. So, I used to myself dismantle the whole hardware(CPU) and see what those small capacitors, a battery and a processor fan would probably do to make it run.My uncle, who is an ace and expert in hardware and software , instructed me to do the needful. If still, things didn't work out, I would loose patience and still keep trying till the screen doesn't flicker. I would fail so many times but giving up was not my forte. All this experimentation came with a cost, which was to resist the bouts of anger of my parents for spoiling for an (apparently) working machine.
The pentium 3, as expected is outdated, and has been replaced by an i3 now, but I am still the very same and keep experimenting with the i3 as well. Today, I am more into the software part of it and the way things are automated fascinates me.
There is no other ideal sight than that of computers and books.

The convoluted yet beautiful life!

After reading a couple of books of the philosophical genre and The Bhagavad Gita, my perspective on life underwent a para-dime shift. My 'wanderlust-struck' mind finally converged in on some matters. Though having experienced only a few years of the long life, I feel I have encountered people who are, one can say, my closest friends;while some, whom I considered as the closest, turned out to be otherwise.
In such matters,I found, our logic fails us. Years of academics teaches us one thing if not any other, think logically and also that things occurring have a reason behind them. In matters of emotions, there seems to be a lot of aberrancy regarding this principle. Things are absolutely unrelated, we remain friends with some people in life irrespective of our aversion for them. Some, on the other hand, fail to tie the friendship knot irrespective of being of, what we call, our types. When things such as these happen, we sit, we muse to our dismay( with exceptions of people who dont think)of not understanding the reasons for the same. Hence begins the train of thoughts trying to connect the prima facie unrelated dots to make sense of them somehow. After a point of time we give up on one issue, moving on to another, but we are never failed by such thoughts to strike us.(Why?)
I had read about people regressing to their past lives and trying to fathom their current life's problems based on their past lives. In one case the person suffered from hydrophobia presently because he/she had drowned in some previous life in a hapless and struggling situation. The person still subconsciously seems to have not overcome this fear.  Sounds interesting? If you think yes then it might possibly be so because you found something beyond the mundaneness, something beyond the realms of acceptable and something which has no proof until you undergo the same but surely promising since somewhere at the back of the mind we do understand all this having a subconscious mind.
The Holy Bhagavad Gita also conveys the same message that the roots of the consequences which we face today are laid in previous births, if not this. Having had some terrible experiences with people, I started to ponder on the veracity of karma. I started feeling that in this world and current scenario, the bad ones live and relish life to the fullest while the true and diligent ones are devoid of what they deserve. We all, at some point think this way because we feel that no-one but us are the ones who are toiling with problems and that everyone else is leading a happy life which is a wrong assumption since human life is bound to undergo suffering.
Nevertheless, I came to believe that karma is a true concept.Having the habit of seeing and measuring results and outcomes quantitatively,I found that  karma's rebuttal cannot be measured but only experienced by the concerned. We need to realize that somethings are just not under our control and it is totally unnecessary to worry about such things. All we need to do is live our life peacefully, flourish, love ourselves and also shower our love to the other beautiful souls out there as it is rightly said "Life is all about sharing and loving". We should always remember that being born as a human is the biggest benison for a soul and that irrespective of everything "Life is Beautiful" and every moment of it must be made cherishable.
Good day to all of you on that note.!

The paradoxical results!

So, the results were declared, the people with smiles on their faces seems got more than 65 or 70(probably) and those with slight grin with a tinge of disappointment probably got 60+(First class here) and those with a petrifying expression may have ended up with a backlog or may have got way below expectations and with hovering talks of how shoddy is the course or how bad the checking is! seems pretty natural. People who score real high wont even bother about criticising the course or analysing the content of the course unless they score less(with some exceptions)!
Well, I have been through two of the situations mentioned above, in the elite as well as in the range decent enough but attracting censure for the course. I felt, both were essential to be a part of my life, to be among the top as well as being among the slightly lower than the higher ones. When you are among the latter, you often analyse where you lacked or  what the course couldn't give you which made you too lethargic to study. There is this gap which is very unfathomable, we learn so much of theory only to find that none of the theory will take you anywhere in a place where people with a  high acumen are already placed and are more skilled. There is no denying that, theory forms the base of any practical stuff but too much emphasis on that and too less in the principles which are required is like just providing uncooked rice(raw rice) where a huge demand for cooked rice exists.
While the cliche goes "Mera Beta distinction se engineering pass hua"(My son passed engineering with a distinction), which nowadays has become banal and the actual skills of such a person maybe less than the one with a First Class. This is the sole reason why aberrant results regarding the placements are observed. There are these dream companies(offering a admirable package)which sometimes hardly hire any of these guys and sometimes the least expected guy(with maybe less percentage) gets into the company having gone that extra-mile elsewhere. So, it seems that the results cannot be a future decider for sure but a source of momentary satisfaction and eligibility criteria for many companies(providing a channel to get selected). In this fierce and cut-throat competition, we require to run an extra mile to prove ourselves. It's absolutely not surprising that companies might directly ask, 'in a crowd of people with the same results as yours what makes you stand out for us to hire you'.
Having said all this, engineering course is worth the admiration and respect because it actually provides one  the platform which is enough for many of us to make the best use of, including but not limited to those mentioned in the article "Towards an Engineered life" published by me. I am not amazed that more than the results, people take with them the pleasant memories, time spent with friends and some of these moments  stay with the person throughout his/her life. It also teaches us one thing, don't ever be contended by any achievement but keep striving to become the best where the best has no limits.Lastly, there are always exceptions to the points I stated above.
Good day to all of you.

Mission success:Approaching problems

Life is a journey which throws so many thorns in its own path. Reaching any milestone in our life requires real efforts. There are so many of us who wish that procuring things could have been effortless, but hey, wait a moment, will that really make you contended except for a few moments of getting it? There are somethings of the human nature I am unable to fathom.
Success is something which we all wish; may it be scoring real good marks in exam, reaching an ambitious position in our professional career. Imagine yourself placed in a football field and your team scores all the goals without anyone moving in the field: even if your team wins, will it be worth the joy?? Without a dime worth effort will it be justified to claim victory? Even at work, we wish that our work gets done automatically without our intervention and our accounts get filled with money.Though the above mentioned scenario's are  imaginary ones but the very thought of it makes one feel so odd. Well folks, efforts make our life worth living. It provides us with the path to achieve something big. Life would just get as boring and lethargic without their presence.Intelligent efforts differentiate us from animals and if we wish to be lethargic then even an animal who doesn't possess the intelligence of a human being is putting in more efforts. What is the use of living such a life where everything is spoon-fed, easy to obtain. One fine day, there might be no importance left for the expensive things which we buy, nothing to crave for, no reason to live in life except for a few years.
The only thing which differentiates people with the above mentioned thoughts with the people who have actually made it big is the approach towards problems. There are two key words which the dictionary hosts namely "optimism" and "pessimism" which acts as a differentiator. Let me take an example to make it clear. In my engineering college, I happened to be an onlooker to one of the incidents which inspired me to write this blog. There were 5 people who were involved in merrymaking in a laboratory session and the faculty caught hold of the same and cancelled their attendance. The faculty asked them to execute the program based on the concept by themselves and show the working to her if they wished to get back their attendance. As opposed to other people's nay approach towards these sort of methods, there was this one guy who had a different perspective to the whole issue; he opined that "he found a new avenue to learn". The whole episode gave him a reason to put efforts to learn and get his attendance back. Those naysayers, too got their attendance back but by copying what he had done. There were two things to note in this incident, one is the approach and the other is the joy. Yes, the person who slogged hard had a joy to boast of which I found in nobody else. I could see the efforts bringing his success some additional colours as opposed to others for whom it seemed routine.  This may just seem as trivial a story to say but it conveys the right message. The joy of anything obtained by sheer efforts beats all the other ecstasies.
These problems as they are said are not to be considered to be a wall between you and success instead, an opportunity to learn something new and making yourself more worthy of the result which you wish to obtain. If someone ever thinks, why someone else got to a position which he\she always dreamt of getting but could not, the only answer to this would be the approach, maybe the person at a high position may have faced all the problems with optimism and will while others may have chosen to avoid confronting those problems and playing safe.
So folks thats all for today. I hope I soaked that lethargy from you!! have a good day!!

Why Movies turn out to be so entertaining and satiating

I recently happened to ponder over the fact that for a plethora of us, movies are very entertaining and we often keep staring at the screen for hours! There are so many reasons which one could give but I would like to share what I feel about movies.
First and foremost, let me talk about the movies which are fictional implying that the things portrayed in them cannot happen in this mundane and normal world composed of mortals like us.These are the movies which have garnered the admiration of so many people across varying age limits. Why is it so? Well, the reason I feel is that many of us have utopian aspirations like flying whenever desired, exploring and having an ability to hop from one place to another within a matter of seconds(like any superhero does!). Albeit not possible in the real sense, we find pleasure or joy in observing someone enacting what we actually want to achieve. Isn't it very soothing and bolstering to realise our aspirations atleast virtually!
Secondly, coming to the movies which ends with the just hero flagging victory over the evil. Everybody wants  to see justice realised and we feel so relieved when the just wins. Justice not only implies legal cases but also punishing the ones who have cheated us at some point in life and have got away unscathed. So many of such movies culminate at a point where the protagonist, who befriends jeopardy is badly beaten up and is on the verge of dying, still gets up out of the blue and all of a sudden takes over the unjust(sometimes myriad in number) and hoists the victory flag! These movies in reality do not deliver justice in our lives, but relieves us with the hope that the just always wins come what may and justice will be delivered. Our unstable and wondering mind finds solace!
I wouldn't elaborate on jocular and comedy movies. They, by all means are entertaining and provide us with the much needed 'hearty laughs' which is in rarity these days.
Movies are more soothing because they provide you the comfort of entertainment that too without stressing much on one's brains. We don't have to strain our brains much here by imagining or thinking but we just have to sit in front of a screen to experience. What more comfort than this?
Life never can give us all the pleasures which we always intend but surely it gives us such sources to remain happy and contended at it being fulfilled and realized somewhere!
Good day!

Towards an 'engineered' life

Engineering is a course which teaches one much more about the intricacies of life as it teaches about the technical aspects. In the tenure of four years one not only becomes a technically sound engineer but also starts leading a engineered life.
One can have three types of worries/pressures whilst doing this course:
1)Worry of the present which includes exams, submissions lined up i.e. the burden of completion.
2)The past worries which includes but is not limited to KT's(for some students), less marks scored which further leads to a present tension of getting good marks.
3)Worries of the future which includes a job security.
When one comes out of the realms of engineering, he/she in consideration can said to have tackled all these burdens with success. These burdens, though in the engineering domain, have a lot to do with one's real lives at a point later in life. One has to keep all these three domains balanced to live a normal life. One learns management of time, which is a quintessential part in so many jobs owing to the fact that a major part of one's studies which has to be managed in the final month before our examination.
Inspite of the aforementioned pressures, we never miss out on the life's enjoyment ride.Engineering life offers us some memorable and unforgettable moments in our life. One gets to know that everything in life can be achieved with focus, hardwork and determination for a limited but highly productive time(with apropos to the last one month of intensive studies). One learns with time that its not just a donkey's hardwork that is required to excel in life, but smartwork as well, which I term as 'smart-hardwork'. One also makes new acquaintances here in engineering, some of them turn out to be as  friends throughout one's life.Exploring places, hanging out with friends and keeping any relationship alive are some of the activities which gives one a glimpse of the various social pressures he/she could ever face, though of a different magnitude, in his/her life.
One of the most important part of engineering are the vivas. They teach a person so much about the power of speech. It is not at all necessary to now 100 percent of the answers to the questions posed to you by the examiner. What counts more is the way you project yourself of whatever you know.I call that technique "intelligent speaking".The examiner judges you much more on your presentation and confidence. These skills teach you so much more about decision-making and handling pressure-tight situations in life.
If one wonders what he/she has learnt after the four strenuous years of engineering, I have listed a few which we often tend to ignore.
Good day!
